Scottish passenger James Gray has been banned from flying with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines after mistaking the emergency exit for the toilet door on a flight from Edinburgh to Amsterdam. He tried to open the jet’s door at 30,000ft.

He was escorted by the Dutch police upon landing and was fined €600 by KLM. Gray still insists that he only touched the handle but did not try to open it, as the cabin crew claims.
