Crossovers have become big business all around the world. According to Renault, one in five vehicles sold last year worldwide was a crossover and the share is even higher in markets like Europe (23 per cent) and China (26 per cent).
Little wonder, then, that the French automaker has been expanding its crossover offerings. It introduced the B-segment Captur just a couple of years ago, and now it’s bolstering its line-up even further with the introduction of the new Kadjar.
Unveiled in full a few months ago, the Kadjar is Renault’s first C-segment crossover and will be offered in both two- and four-wheel drive configurations. It will be equipped with LED headlights and Renault’s R-Link 2 infotainment system. And while the styling is clearly more car-like than truck, it still offers nearly seven and a half inches of ground clearance, lower body cladding and under-body protection for venturing off road.
The Renault Kadjar will be manufactured in Palencia, Spain, alongside the Mégane that’s already built there.
