Founder and CEO of 6PM Ivan Bartolo was conferred a Doctor of the University honorary degree by Middlesex University.

The academic board of Middlesex University awards honorary degrees in recognition of recipients’ commitment to social, economic and national causes and support for cultural diversity.

Comprehensive policies and stringent evaluation criteria guide the university’s decision in approving all honorary degrees, which ensures that they are awarded to individuals who make exceptional contributions to their profession, community or directly to the university.

During the graduation ceremony held in Malta, Bartolo was presented as a candidate for the degree for his contribution to the Maltese IT sector through 6PM. The university recognised his contribution in the development of products that are making a tangible difference in the NHS and other global hospitals, as well as in building an international company.

Mr Bartolo said the award came as a real surprise, and that he felt honoured to receive it from a university with such heritage and specialisation in science, technology and health. “I will use this honorary doctorate to continue to challenge, encourage and inspire students and employees to excel and do well in their studies and future careers,” he said.

6PM, a leader in IT health solutions, today employs over 170 technology consultants and is present in Malta, UK, Ireland, Australia and Macedonia. 6PM Holdings plc was listed on the Malta Stock Exchange in September 2007.
