World Sight Day (WSD) is an annual day of awareness held to focus global attention on blindness and vision impairment.

This year, the event falls on October 8 and the motto to take action is Eye Care For All.

Right now, approximately 285 million people worldwide live with low vision and blindness of which 80 per cent of visual impairment is avoidable – i.e. readily treatable and/or preventable. In fact four out of five people have avoidable visual impairment.

It is therefore important that one takes regular eye examinations and check-ups at a professional optometrist/ophthalmologist. Adults should have their eyes tested every two years to keep their prescriptions current and to check for early signs of eye disease, while children’s regular eye exams are important to ensure normal vision development. Eye-wear which is suitable to ones needs is also essential to help prevent eyesight problems in the long term.

Therefore on October 8, Vision Opticians is offering all its client having their eyes tested on this day, €10 off their spectacle frame with lenses or even just on a change of lenses.

Book your eye test at any one of Vision Opticians 7 outlets and benefit from €10 off your test as an extra incentive.
