On September 9, at about 10.15am, I drove past the church in Attard as I needed to go to the left of the police station.

The road was blocked by a refuse truck.

The workers were dragging and pushing a skip to the back of the truck.

I thought they were just emptying one skip and they would then move on. Within a few minutes the queue of cars was quite long, waiting for the vehicle to move, when suddenly one of the workers came along and said they would be there for another 20 minutes.

Quite frankly I don’t know what they were doing as when I looked behind the truck there was nobody to be seen.

It is already bad enough trying to drive on the roads in Malta, let alone when trucks are allowed to block busy roads. If it is necessary for refuse trucks to block the road then they should do so in the early hours ofthe morning.
