Walt Disney Studios released its first trailer of the 1967 remake of The Jungle Book. The film, based on the famous novel by Rudyard Kipling, will star big names like Scarlett Johansson, Christopher Walken, Idris Elba, Ben Kingsley and Bill Murray.

Mowgli, played by the adorable 10-year-old Neel Sethi, is an orphan who has been raised by wolves in the Indian jungle.

The story is focused on his friendship with Baloo the bear (Murray) and Bagheera the black panther (Kingsley), who have very different opinions about where Mowgli belongs. When Bagheera tries to bring the boy back to his village, they run in to the man-eating tiger Shere Khan (Elba) and the hypnotising snake Kaa (Johansson).

Director Jon Favreau, known for the Iron Man films, said on Twitter that working with Bill Murray and the others was amazing.

But Favreau also honoured his crew by naming the animated wolf cubs after them.

Disney fans of all ages are already very curious if this dark real life adaptation can beat the original animated one. On April 7 next year, when the adventures of Mowgli and the animals will be released, you can decide for yourself.
