Turtles arrive at the Ostional coastline of Costa Rica in the annual wildlife phenomenon called 'Arribada'.

Thousands arrived to nest on the beach to the delight of locals.

The natural phenomenon was captured on a Costa Rican beach on camera on September 4, when an estimated 5,000 turtles were seen making their way across a beach.

The event is known as an 'Arribada' and involves thousands of turtles coming ashore at once to lay their eggs in the sand.

Arribada means arrival by sea in Spanish and it takes place on a large scale in Costa Rica.

An AGLO member captured the moment on camera and the video has been viewed more than 66,000 times since being posted online on September 5.
