Caremalta and the Malta Association for Supported Employment joined forces to organise a pool party for a group of young adults with intellectual disabilities.
Caremalta has been working hard to start offering services to people with special needs through its new entity, Hila.
The aim of Hila will be to offer a range of services to people with disability, including advocacy, independent supported living housing, support services, learning, development and leisure with a person-centred approach.
A number of young adults who participated in the event are currently undergoing a placement with Caremalta.
Caremalta’s CEO Natalie Briffa Farrugia said the success of these placements was due to the good synergy between Caremalta and MASE but mostly to the support shown by the staff together with the ability shown by candidates to integrate in their workplace and deliver results.
MASE helps vulnerable people and individuals with disability to access real employment opportunities in an integrated setting with appropriate ongoing support.
Hila’s next event will be a live-in weekend, which will aim to create a set-up where participants will be exposed to an independent supported living environment.
