The Hungarian government and other Eastern European countries are finding it difficult to provide shelter for refugees entering their border. Their solution to this humanitarian crisis is simple: build fences to keep them out, but there is more to refugee protection than building fences.

Is German Chancellor Angela Merkel the only human being capable of assisting these refugees? It is a shame that the Hungarian government is finding it more appropriate to build fences and send troops along the border to control the traffic of refugees than to try to find a suitable accommodation for these unfortunate people coming from war-torn countries.
