A video of Zak Maytum, a 24-year-old skateboarder racing down the road in Colorado, has become an internet hit gaining 1 million views since it was uploaded on Monday.

The video shows Maytum shooting down the road at 112 km per hour seemingly without any padding or support.

Justin Rouleau, the brand manager of Venom Bushings, the organisation behind the stunt, told Reuters that Maytum was wearing padding under his clothes so the viewer wouldn't see it in the video.

He also said that he wore a helmet and very specific shoes, with a fully customised high performance skateboard, specially tuned for high speed riding.

Rouleau said that Maytum is one of the top professionals in the sport of downhill skateboarding and has been riding for 10 years.
