Customers shopping at one of eight supermarkets retailing Carrefour products were encouraged to take ‘shelfies’ and upload them on social media to stand a chance of winning a €200 shopping spree each week.
The participating supermarkets were Trolees Supermarket (Qawra), GS superstore (Naxxar), Shopwise Discount Store (Qormi), Shoppers Discount Supermarket (Mellieħa), Lasco Supermarket (Żejtun), Tower Supermarket (Sliema) and Park Towers Supermarkets (Santa Venera and St Julian’s).
Eighty shelfies were submitted and eight winners were announced.
The seventh prize of the competition, a €200 voucher, was donated to the Ursuline Children’s Creche in Tarxien.
Mario Vella from Retail Marketing Ltd said these competitions created a bond between shopping and social media. The initiative also tied in with the group’s efforts to make shopping a pleasant experience.
