An armed robber escaped with a 'substantial' amount of cash following a hold-up at a Mosta establishment late yesterday.

The police said the hold-up took place at about 10.45pm. The robber was hooded and carried a firearm. 

No one was injured. The haul is believed to have been around €6,000.
