A recent article in the Times of Malta asked the question: was the Żonqor change a U-turn or a political strategy?

Żonqor is going to be ruined just the same. A university is going to built and it needs roads, water, electricity and a lot more – all this on virgin land.

With all this in mind, my opinon is that it was just a cheap political strategy, very similar to that used when haggling at the Catania market.
