Updated - A 61-year-old man died this afternoon after falling a height of two storeys in Qormi this morning.

The police said the accident took place at about 7am in Triq it-Tin, Qormi.

The man was carrying out works on the façade of his residence when he fell.

He was immediately conveyed to Mater Dei Hospital, where it was established that he was in a critical condition.

Investigations are underway by the police.

MOTORCYCLIST CRITICALLY INJURED IN CRASH

Earlier, the police said a motorcyclist was in critical condition after a collision between his motorcycle and a car at Hal Far late yesterday.

The incident occurred at 10.15pm and involved a Honda CBR motorcycle driven by a 32-year-old man from Gzira and a Honda Civic car driven by a 23-year-old man resident in Naxxar.

The driver of the car was not injured.
