The All Ages Netball Club recently held their annual presentations night. The activity, at the Alexandra Hotel, saw the best performers of the past season and the most dedicated players in each of the club’s three teams receiving mementoes and awards.

Also on the occasion, the prestigious Amanda Vassallo Shield was awarded to the most outstanding member of the club.

This award was established in 2009 in memory of Amanda Vassallo, a former All Ages player who lost her battle with cancer in 2008 at the age of 21.

“Amanda will always be in our hearts. The one receiving the Shield this year again had to be special to merit such an honour,” Anita Mangion, All Ages Netball Club president, told those present.

The Amanda Vassallo Shield went to Under-21 coach Debbie Agius “for her commitment to attract and nurture young talent as well as for her perseverance in helping the club to grow”.

Last season, All Ages participated in the National League with three teams in different categories – First and Second Divisions and U-21 championship.

Mangion congratulated the winners and her committee for all the work done throughout the year.

She also thanked Chris Spiteri, of Alexandra Hotel, for making the presentations night possible, and André Grech, of Mirachem Ltd, for sponsoring the All Ages U-21 team through their brand Malizia.
