A Bulgarian today admitted of driving under the influence and causing €3,000 worth of damage to two parked vehicles in St Paul’s Bay yesterday.

Teodor Hristov, 21, was accused of causing €2,500 in damages to a Renault Megane and €500 to a Toyota Vitz, while at the wheel of an Audi A4.

The accused was also charged with driving without an insurance policy and a valid driving licence.

The prosecution, led by Inspectors Nicholas Vella and Mark Mercieca, also charged the Bulgarian with failing a breathalyser test.

The accused was granted bail against a personal guarantee of €2,000 and ordered to report every day at the Qawra police station.

The case has been adjourned for September 19, when Magistrate Audrey Demicoli will deliver judgement.
