Denni Rocha dos Santos’s return to the Maltese Premier League was finally confirmed after the Brazilian forward completed a move to champions Hibernians on deadline day, yesterday.

The 33-year-old forward has agreed to put pen to paper on a one-year contract and his transfer papers were filed at the MFA offices yesterday after the Paolites received the player’s international clearance.

Denni had left Valletta for family reasons in summer of 2014 before moving to Iranian club Zakho FC.

However, the former Tarxien Rainbows striker remained keen on a comeback to Maltese football and could not resist Hibs’ offer of playing for them this season. He had already joined them for training last month but the deal was finally completed yesterday.

Mosta continued to strengthen their ranks when they acquired striker Edin Murga on loan from Birkirkara.

The Bosnian striker joined the Stripes earlier this summer and formed part of their squad for the Europa League qualifiers.

However, the 20-year-old found his first-team opportunities limited and agreed to join Mosta who are enjoyed an excellent start to the new season after winning their opening two league matches.

Qormi’s exodus continued yesterday as goalkeeper Matthew Farrugia and Duncan Pisani sealed a move away from the club.

New keeper for Pembroke

Farrugia and defender Pisani were both absent for the clash against Mosta last week, mounting speculation that they were set to be offloaded as Qormi are seeking funds to solve their financial problems.

Farrugia agreed to join newly-promoted club Pembroke Athleta on a two-year contract while Pisani will continue his career in Division One after joining promotion-seekers Senglea Athletic.

Qormi had already parted ways with defender Jonathan Bondin, winger Leighton Grech and striker Alfred Effiong this summer but on a more positive note yesterday they succeeded in sealing a deal to sign striker Terence Vella on loan from Birkirkara.

Elsewhere, Naxxar Lions completed the registration of young American striker Arya Haghighi and Sliema Wanderers loaned out Argentine midfielder Matthias Muchardi to Division One side Ħamrun Spartans.

For Muchardi this will be the second loan stint away from the Wanderers. Last season he played for Żebbuġ Rangers.
