The new Hyundai ix20, very popular for its versatile interior, is now available in a newly upgraded version, offering an engaging blend of premium design and technology. It is immediately recognisable by its neat design.

The ix20’s compact body work gives it a smaller footprint, making it easier to park. The car’s elevated driving position makes it easy to drive too, with excellent all-round visibility.

It comes in three trims, Classic, Active and Style. All offer plenty of substantial features. The Style version is the most luxurious of the three.

Build quality is first rate on all models and the fit and finish of the cabin is very comfortable. Inside, the dashboard gets piano black and shiny silver trim, while the instruments get distinctive blue back lighting.

The car’s six-speed manual box has a slick action with its tall top gear offering relaxed cruising. Comfort is a major theme, and is boosted by a supple suspension. Hyundai has also worked hard to tune the ix20’s driving manners and the results have been a success.

The marque’s commitment to bring quality vehicles to the market is again very evident in the new ix20. There will be little to complain about when it comes to quality and the overall effect is very impressive.

With a full set of driver and passenger airbags and traction control as standard, it scored a full five stars in the Euro NCAP safety test.

When it comes to practicality, the ix20 looks relatively compact on the outside, but inside it’s huge. There’s plenty of space for front and rear seat passengers and the cabin features lots of innovative storage solutions that are perfect for families on the go. There are also some very clever design details inside, including under-seat storage bins. The 440 litre boot is bigger than some of its more important competitors. Seats fold completely flat to offer a 1,440 litre load bay.

The ix20 comes with a 1.4-litre diesel engine making this model very strong on fuel economy, returning an impressive 65.7mpg. The car also comes with a five-year warranty and breakdown recovery deal through Hyundai’s very popular five-year triple car package which includes free annual health checks.

The Hyundai ix20 model is eligible for the Government’s re-launched Scrappage Scheme. Customers who choose to scrap their ten-year-old plus car will be eligible for a discount amounting to €900.
