The Centre for Child Development, Education and Care Studies (CDEC) which, through its Level 4 childcare course, prepares students for a career in childcare, is planning a new daytime course.

The course consists of lectures in child development, early childhood education through play, family dynamics, child welfare and the physical care of babies and young children.

The course also equips students with the ability to plan and deliver daily programmes that support healthy, all-round development and early education by placement experience in registered childcare centres.

Students who gain this Level 4 diploma can also look forward to further interesting career paths.

CDEC is a further education centre, recognised and accredited by the National Council for Further and Higher Education.

The course is planned to start in October at the Leap! Centre, formerly known as the Access Centre, Cottonera.

Those interested may call 7747 3444 or 7946 4079.

Those able to only follow an evening course can also call for more information.
