In a recent blood drive, Famalco Group employees donated blood to the National Blood Transfusion Unit.

This activity was organised by the group’s events committee, who arranged for the Mobile Blood Unit to visit the group’s head offices in Attard. Employees interested in donating blood were given advice on what to do before so the event runs smoothly.

Posters were also handed out to the business community in Attard and surrounding areas to inform the public of the group’s blood drive.

“Considering this is the first time we organised a blood drive, we had great feedback from the public and employees alike. Being part of this noble cause is our way of giving back to the community and we look forward to a next time,” said committee member Kevin Abela.

Other companies interested in becoming part of this initiative are encouraged to contact the National Blood Transfusion Unit on nbts@gov.mt.

The mobile blood unit is equipped with the latest technology, including a high-tech pre-donation testing area and a four-person bleeding theatre, along with air conditioning and motorised couches.
