VASSALLO. On August 26, at Villa Messina, Rabat, ANTHONY of Valletta, aged 86, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Carmen, his daughter Rita and her husband Alfred Barbaro Sant, Doreen, widow of John Mercieca, his brothers and sisters, their wives and husbands, his grand­children Douglas and his wife Joanna, Chantelle and her boyfriend Godwin, Keith and his wife Nadia, and Clint and his wife Anndrea, his great-grandchildren Raia, Nora, Noa, Nina, and Thomas, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Villa Messina today at 4.15pm for Ta’ Ġieżu church, Rabat, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 4.30pm, followed by interment at Santa Margherita Cemetery, Rabat. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

VASSALLO GRANT. On August 27, at St Vincent de Paul residence, WANDA, aged 89, went to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her only surviving brother Frank and his wife Margaret, her sisters-in-law Doris, Carrie and M’Louise, her brothers-in-law René Baldacchino and Joseph Fleri Soler, nieces, nephews and friends. The funeral leaves St Vincent de Paul residence tomorrow at 9am for Sacro Cuor parish church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9.30am, followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Bike ride by night in aid of Multiple Sclerosis Society

A bike ride by night in aid of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Malta is being held on September 19 at 7pm. Cyclists will meet at Ta’ Qali (next to the APS ATM) and ride to Birżebuġa and back against a donation of €10.
