Trading activity across the local equity market dwindled during this morning’s session of the stock exchange as only €91,150 worth of equities changed hands today with the MSE Share Index closing relatively unchanged at 4,200.929 points.

The equity of Bank of Valletta plc maintained the €2.26 level today across seven deals totalling 17,600 shares.

Likewise, HSBC Bank Malta plc shares held on to the €1.75 level on volumes of 18,457 shares.

Insignificant volumes were registered across the other active equities including RS2 Software plc as the IT equity held on to the €2.292 level on a deal of 2,150 shares.

Meanwhile, Malta International Airport plc trended in negative territory with its share price easing 0.3% lower back to the €3.89 level on a single trade of 1,260 shares.

Similarly, the equity of Mapfre Middlesea plc retreated by 0.4% back to the €2.229 level also on shallow volumes of 2,210 shares.

On the other hand, the share price of Malita Investments plc edged marginally higher to close at the €0.94 level across a single trade of just over 3,500 shares.

Simonds Farsons Cisk plc also inched 0.9% higher to a fresh high of €5.55 on small deal of 180 shares.

The interim reporting season will end on Monday 31 August. This afternoon, Medserv plc is expected to publish its interim financial statements and tomorrow International Hotel Investments plc and Grand Harbour Marina plc will be reporting on their H1 results. Meanwhile, MIDI plc will issue its interim financial statements next Monday.

On the bond market, the RF MGS Index extended its downward trend with a further minimal decline to 1,121.220 points as the benchmark 10-year German Bund yield remained above the 0.70% level.
