White House fence jumper shot dead after new incident

A man who was once arrested for climbing the White House fence has been fatally shot after allegedly slashing a sheriff's deputy with a knife in Pennsylvania.

Curtis Smith had climbing a White House fence earlier this year.

He was killed at a suburban Pennsylvania courthouse late yesterday after he sliced a sheriff's deputy with a knife, the local district attorney said.

Smith, from Coatesville, Pennsylvania, had a criminal record that included arrests for assault and burglary.
