On the occasion of the feast of Santa Marija I availed myself of the opportunity given by Heritage Malta to visit the newly established Fort St Elmo and the National War Museum.

I was, to put it mildly, very impressed with the Museum which must rank as one of the best in Malta, with some very excellent visual aids and short videos and the added bonus of occupying a very beautiful spot at the entrance to the Grand Harbour. A well-deserved prosit to all concerned.

One suggestion however is that Heritage Malta should consider having open days with reduced entrance fees on a more regular basis, say once every quarter, and that such events should be given better publicity in the media, thereby encouraging more interest among the public in Malta’s rich historical heritage.
