The school’s director, Ingrid Sciberras, awarded certificates to students who underwent Alianza Flamenca assessments and passed successfully.

The exciting part of the evening was the award ceremony of the scholarships. The school offers three scholarships and a fourth that is awarded bi-annually.

The Dhalia local scholarship was awarded to Laura Bonello, a promising senior student who will be attending numerous classes to further her technique.

The Comsec International award was awarded to another senior student, Juanita Spiteri, who will be attending a course at the annual Flamenco Festival in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, in February.

The Puerto Flamenco scholarship was awarded to Martina Joy Azzopardi, who will be attending a course by Francesca Grima next summer.

The new term at Alegria will start on September 28. For more details, e-mail alegriamalta@gmail.com.
