Ryan Fraser’s winner kept Ipswich at the top of the Championship as they sank Preston 2-1, yesterday.

Brett Pitman scored the first goal conceded by Preston this season and Daniel Johnson levelled things up before the break.

But the Tractor Boys sealed their third victory in four league games when Fraser struck from 20 yards with 25 minutes remaining.

Brighton are second on goal difference after Kazenga LuaLua swept in his third goal of the season in the 35th minute to down Blackburn Rovers 1-0 at the Amex stadium.

Johann Berg Gudmundsson scored eight minutes into injury time as Charlton beat Hull 2-1. Moments earlier Abel Hernandez appeared to have snatched a point when he cancelled out Simon Makienok’s 52nd-minute header.
