Mapfre Middlesea has launched the MotorMax app to support the Motor Max product, a usage-based car insurance product aimed at young drivers. The app is based on a telematics device which is installed in the car.

The MotorMax App showcases the driving patterns of drivers with respect to speed, mileage and time of driving. The password-protected app then gauges the driving skills and, depending on their scores, drivers can benefit from up to 40 per cent off their insurance renewal premium. Through the app one can also determine the location of the car in real time.

The MotorMax app was developed by Handson Systems. It can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play.

Cost control with new Vodafone plan

The new Vodafone Star Plan offers customers the value of a pay-monthly plan combined with the full cost control of topping up only as and when they need to.

Customers signing up for Vodafone Star Plan until November 30, 2015 can benefit from a introductory offer of €20 per month for the two-year term, which includes a SIM and a 4G smartphone.

The advantage of the Vodafone Star Plan is that customers cannot go over the monthly limits unless they choose to by topping up. Even then, they will benefit from Vodafone’s out-of-bundle rates, with one unit costing 15c per minute for calls and 15c per SMS, and mobile internet at €2 per 100MB.

“We felt that there are customers out there who are attracted to the value and flexibility which a monthly plan typically offers, but who may hold back because they don’t want to be continually worrying about exceeding their limit,” explained Alexia Mula, marketing executive at Vodafone Malta.
