Greta Maria Mattocks is the winner of this year’s BOV Prize in Medicine. She achieved the highest marks in the final qualifying medicine exams at the University of Malta.

Dr Mattocks was awarded the prize by John Paul Abela, the bank’s media and community relations manager, in the presence of Prof. Stephen Montfort, head of the Department of Medicine at Medical School.

“Bank of Valletta supports excellence in various fields of study through the education pillar of its community programme,” said Mr Abela.

“The BOV Prize in Medicine which we have instituted years ago together with the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery within the University serves to encourage students to pursue their goals, while rewarding excellence and commitment,” he explained.

Thanking BOV for its support over the past years, Prof. Montefort said: “Obtaining the highest grades in the final qualifying examinations in medicine at university level is a great achievement. The prize is an incentive for our students to strive harder.”
