I refer to the letter ‘It’s a high fee for a clinic’ (August 12).

It would appear that the correspondent does not seem to be sure which part of the bill he paid constitutes the consultant’s fee and which is the clinic fee.

It must be pointed out that a pharmacist is obliged to inform a consumer beforehand should a clinic fee apply in his pharmacy.

One has to point out that consumers have every right to enquire about any charge will be imposed on them, if any, and, in fact, are encouraged to do so.

This is even more important since price control has not been exercised ever since the market was liberalised and, thus, consumers should ask beforehand the price of a service they are seeking from the service provider, no matter who the service provider is.
