Close to 600 people visited or played at this year’s Malta eSports Festival held at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta. Described as one of Malta’s biggest gaming events, it was held in an area of 700 square metres where talks, shows and quizzes took place. It also hosted a PC area, stands, and for the first time, a dedicated console area.

The event, organised by the Malta Tourism Authority and sponsored by recruitment agency Vacancy Centre, was described as “a huge success” by Gamers.com.mt founder Kersten James Chircop. “We worked very hard to deliver what we promised to everyone in the past few months and the feedback we had during and after the event, was overwhelming,” Mr Chircop said.

He added that while he was very proud of what his company had managed to achieve over the past three years, without partners and sponsors such as Vacancy Centre, such events would not be possible. “They involve a lot of expenses and the sponsors’ input makes it easier for us to deliver high-quality events,” he said.

The centre’s senior recruitment officer Sarah Miceli said visitors enjoyed a new and unique experience in Malta’s eSports scene, adding that “these true gamers shared valuable development advice, wisdom and lessons learned”.

Vacancy Centre.com has 27 years’ experience in recruitment, HR consultancy, payroll and employment law. It has now also extended its service offering to employers, including an extensive HR consultancy and training that also includes e-learning solutions, development of human capital and corporate performance management.
