AQUILINA. On August 10, MARGARET, widow of Lino, passed away in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Tito and his wife Desirée, Emma and her husband Darren Fenech, Helena and her husband Edward Enriquez and Julia; her grandchildren Fay, Mia and Sean; her step-children Tony and his wife Nadya and their children Sarah and Lisa; Eddie and his wife Marie Lou and their children Alexia and Edward and Mimi and her husband Arthur Borg Testaferrata; her cousins Elizabeth, wife of Roy Turner and Jean Midgely; in-laws, relatives and friends. BUHAGIAR. On August 10, at Mater Dei Hospital, ALFRED of Qawra, passed away peacefully at the age of 73, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his ex-wife Linda, his children Karen and her husband Stewart, Paul and his partner Liesel, his grandchildren Shania and Bill, his sisters Rose and her husband Louis Pisani, Helen and her husband Benny Grech Pillow, Carmen, widow of Paul Gatt, Lucia and her husband Joe Vella, and his brother Joe, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on August 19 at 7.45am for St Francis parish church, Qawra, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment at the Ħniena Divina Cemetery, St Paul’s Bay. No flowers by request, but donations to Hospice Malta, Balzan, will be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

BUTTIGIEG. On August 13, at Mater Dei Hospital, KARMEN, aged 69, went to meet the Risen Lord comforted by the rites of Holy Church, after a very long illness borne with great Christian fortitude. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved husband Wilfrid, her sister Miriam and her mother Ersilia, her brother-in-law Joseph and his wife Pauline, her sister-in-law Marlene, her brother-in-law Albert and his wife Janice, her sister-in-law Bernadette and her husband Frank, her sister-in-law Monica Grima and her daughter Olivia Ann, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends, most especially her long lifetime helper and carer, Tessa Micallef, who nursed and looked after her incessantly, and Enzo Gusman who was always there to help her throughout the early stages of her illness when she worked for Barclays Bank Ltd. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Tuesday, August 18 at 8.15am for St Cajetan parish church, Ħamrun, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9am, followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. Good Lord, grant her eternal rest. A special word of thanks goes to the medical staff at the Mater Dei Emergency Ward, most especially the CPR Unit, who worked really hard trying to save her life.

CAMILLERI. On August 9, at Villa Messina, Rabat, JOSEPHINE of Rabat, aged 85, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Toti, her children Mary and her husband Freddie Farrugia, Joyce and her husband Freddie Chircop, Mario and his wife Mary, Paul and his wife Josette, Philip and his partner Andrea and Donald and his wife Michelle, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her sister Pawla, her brother Leli and his wife Benny, numerous relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Villa Messina today at 2.45pm for St Dominic’s church, Rabat, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3pm, followed by interment in the family grave at the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Żebbuġ. MINTOFF. On August 13, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPH of Valletta, aged 69, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Phyllis, his children Rita and her husband Joseph and Bjorn and his wife Maruska, his mother Maria, his grandchildren Leah, Edward and Paul, his brothers and sisters, Frans and his wife Mary, Louis, widower of his sister Mary Rose, Raymond and his wife Marisa, his in-laws, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.30pm for St Paul Shipwrecked parish church, Valletta, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. ZAMMIT. On August 12, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPH of St Julians, residing at Ħamrun, (ex-Assistant Director, Ministry for Social Security), aged 64, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church and surrounded by his family. He is loved and will be deeply missed by his wife Maryrit and his children Jessica and Clyde and his sister Miriam, other relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be said on Monday, August 17 at 9am at St Cajetan parish church, Ħamrun, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
