Inter legend Javier Zanetti is delighted to be back in Malta ahead of his second kids’ clinic at the Luxol Grounds, starting this evening.

“It’s always a pleasure to return to this country,” Zanetti, who has taken up the role of Inter FC vice-president after his retirement from football, told a news conference at the McDonald’s restaurant at the Malta International Airport.

“Here, I always meet many enthusiastic Inter fans. My family and I feel at ease among the Maltese people.

“At the same time, we’re doing something to help children through my foundation and that is fundamental for me.”

Zanetti’s latest Malta visit, his third in the last 14 months, is being co-ordinated by the Inter Club Pupi Zanetti Malta, led by president Paul Fenech.

During his stay here, Zanetti will oversee a football clinic for children, sponsored by McDonalds, between today and Sunday. He will also take part in three friendly five-a-side matches.

Zanetti will also be the guest of honour at two social events, one at the Radisson Golden Sands Resort on Sunday and the other in the square of Mellieha on Monday. All proceeds will go to Zanetti’s PUPI Foundation which helps poor and disadvantaged children in Argentina.
