Edwards Lowell’s St Julian’s boutique was transformed for one evening into an A. Lange & Söhne monobrand shop to celebrate the launch of the Saxon brand in Malta.

Managing director Malcolm Lowell said: “There is no doubt that A. Lange & Söhne is regarded as one of the finest high-end watch manufacturers in Europe. These classic and iconic timepieces bring something very unique and distinctive to our portfolio. Edwards Lowell is honoured to represent and develop the brand in Malta.”

Apart from enjoying the complete range of A. Lange & Söhne timepieces, guests had the opportunity to meet Luca Dondi, A. Lange & Söhne’s general director for central, southwest Europe, Russia and CIS, who travelled to Malta to mark the occasion.

Dondi said: “A. Lange & Söhne is a niche brand. People and their values are crucial factors that make the difference, just like the Lowell family. We chose Edwards Lowell as our collaborator in Malta because of the family’s knowledge and experience in high-end watches and mechanical complications.”

Throughout the evening, guests had the pleasure to witness one of only five specialised A. Lange & Söhne hand engravers working on the miniscule components of each timepiece.

One of the star attractions of the evening was the fascinating Richard Lange Perpetual Calendar ‘Terraluna’. The watch houses a movement that controls the delivery of the enormous amount of energy stored in the twin mainspring barrel to assure consistently high rate accuracy across the entire 14-day power reserve period.

Terraluna is able to tell where a particular place on earth is in relation to the sun, as well as whether it is night or day in that location. This particular model was just one of the outstanding timepieces presented at the launch.

The collection is available at the Edwards Lowell’s boutique in St Julian’s.
