Victims of the plague that struck Xagħra in 1814 were remembered at a ceremony held by the village’s Victory Philarmonic Society. Aaron Attard-Hili delivered a speech and Christian Magrin played the reveille at the Xagħra plague cemetery. Society president Joseph Attard and Xagħra mayor Joseph Cordina laid flowers at the base of the cross in the middle of the cemetery. It was the second year that the ceremony was held.
