A 95-year-old Jew of the Holocaust has set up a fund and also an escape route, through Jewish networking, to assist oppressed Christians living in territory held by the IS, especially in biblical cities in Iraq and Syria, such as Mosul and Aleppo.

This has been revealed at a time when Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has recently admitted that his forces, after a four-year conflict, are sadly depleted and now find it extremely difficult to withstand the Jihadist onslaught.

In an interview, this gallant and generous Jew revealed his disappointment at the apathy of the Christian Church, especially in the European countries with deep-rooted Christian traditions, towards her brethren being massacred and reviled by the IS in the Middle East.

Through Jewish networking, thousands have already been rescued and rehabilitated.

It is to be expected that, in our Christian milieu, replete as it is with gorgeous festivities, we would cast a long, lingering look at the sufferings of these people and a mission fund be set up specifically for our Christian brethren living in the Middle East who have remained steadfast in their beliefs in spite of the brutal massacres, beheadings and crucifixions.
