On the recent spike in allegations of corruption and other ill-doings within the government service, and considering that the Prime Minister was reported saying, quite rightly, that he would not be pleased if his party or government were associated with corruption, I quote an episode from history way back when Gaius Julius Caeser was ruling the mightiest country in the world.
He divorced his wife, Pompeia, on grounds that relatives as well spouses of leaders had to be above “suspicion”.
This holds true today by adding “and our subjects” too.
