Might it be reasonable to ask how the ‘magisterial inquiry’ launched this time last year into the unauthorised laying of a road on Comino, is progressing?
Perhaps we could also be told the name of the magistrate assigned to the job.
The Maltese are incapable of building a decent road to the resort villages of Qala or Nadur, but they can lay a road on Comino without anybody who ‘polices’ the island – Malta Tourism Authority, Transport Malta and the police themselves – even noticing.
Of course, a ‘road’ is now vital for this tiny island, where the main attraction used to be thatit was empty, and motor traffic was limited to one Land Rover and a tractor. Now there are trucks, mobile kiosks, cars and camper vans. And when (if) the road-builders are ever identified, perhaps they could be redeployed to do a real job, on Gozo.
