Leicester: Leicester City have signed midfielder N’Golo Kante from Caen, and Atalanta defender Yohan Benalouane. Kante, 24, is a Frenchman of Malian descent who was part of the Caen team that gained promotion to Ligue 1 in the 2013-14 season. Leicester’s website said Kante’s contract was for four years but did not disclose the fee. A few hours later Leicester City announced the signing of his compatriot Benalouane, a tall former France Under-21 international, as their fifth recruit of the close-season.

Norwich play Crystal Palace at Carrow Road on Saturday on their return to the top flight.

Deulofeu: Everton’s most expensive pre-season signing, Gerard Deulofeu, is expected to miss the opening Premier League game against Watford this weekend, manager Roberto Martinez said on Monday. The 21-year-old, who spent the 2013-14 season on loan from Barcelona, suffered a hamstring injury in the Asia Trophy in Singapore a fortnight ago. “He’s already working at 60 per cent so I don’t expect him to be too far away,” Martinez told reporters. “Maybe the weekend will be too early for him.”

Guingamp revealed on Friday that an agreement had been reached to bring the 29-year-old former Lyon and Rennes midfielder to the Stade du Roudourou and Briand was officially unveiled as a Guingamp player yesterday. Briand has signed a two-year contract with the Brittany club and returns to France after a single season in the Bundesliga.

Anzhi: Russian Premier League club Anzhi Makhachkala have complained about bigoted comments from CSKA Moscow fans during a Russian Premier League match between the teams on Saturday. “The chants from the CSKA fans were insulting towards our club and the fans as they were expressing hostility on the basis of one’s nationality,” Anzhi said in a statement.
