The science of honey is the theme of a discussion today at 8pm at the Quadrangle, University of Malta, Msida campus.

Edward Duca will moderate a panel made up of experts from the commercial and academic fields, including Micheal Muscat, Adrian Bugeja Douglas and Ray Sciberras.

Malta has over 200 beekeepers in Malta and 12 bees are needed to make just one teaspoon of honey. The island has also been known for its sweet honey since ancient times.

Entrance is against a €5 donation, which will go towards the University’s Research, Innovation and Development Trust.

Refreshments will be served after the event.

The event is organised by non-profit organisation Malta Café Scientifique, which forms part of the Malta Chamber of Scientists.
