The ninth group to attempt the Kilimanjaro challenge paid a courtesy call on President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca at San Anton Palace, Attard, to talk about their attempt to climb the mountain to raise funds for a kindergarden in Dembidolo, Ethiopia.

The funds will be administered by Moviment Missjunarju Ġesù fil-Proxxmu, a voluntary organisation. To build stamina and strength, the group trains from four to five hours three times a week.

Meanwhile, the team is organising a number of events to raise as much money as possible before they leave Malta in December.

Those wishing to contribute can contact the group on Facebook.

Donations can also be made to BOV Bank account 40023436653, by calling 5150 2084 (€5), 5160 2028 (€10) or 5180 2095 (€25) or texting 50617389 to donate €2.33 or 5061 8062 to donate €4.66.
