A group of six from the Youth for Mission group, forming part of Missio, the Missions Office in Valletta – Bernard, Charlene, Ramona, Martha, Janice and Amanda – are in Malawi, southeast Africa, to carry out voluntary work within the community.

They will be teaching children at Lusobilo Orphanage in the Karonga diocese, run by Sr Beatrice, various subjects and crafts.

The principal project is the drilling of a borehole to extract clean and potable water in use by one of the parish communities. Over these last years, Missio initiated the drilling of borehole projects in Zambia, Ethiopia and Tanzania.

Those interested in volunteer work are invited to call 2123 6962 or visit No. 7, Merchants Street, Valletta.
