Malta’s trade envoy to China Sai Mizzi is still benefitting from Lawrence Gonzi’s legacy to this nation. This is not only through the sound economy, despite all obstacles at the time, but equally through axioms for life.

“Do not judge me according to my words but according to what I do.”

The difference is that what Gonzi presented to this country is tangible, whereas Mizzi’s outcome is not even equivalent to a fraction of the PN government’s achievements.

She does not even seem to be aware that Malta can contribute to the development of a united Europe and towards enhanced economic growth. Perhaps she needs to be reminded it was again the PN, thanks to the stamina of Eddie Fenech Adami sustained by personalities like Guido de Marco and Simon Busuttil, that Malta still has a stable economy within Europe.

Mizzi is today simply synonymous with her €13,000 a month salary, strikingly contrasting the attack on the Gonzi administration proposal to increase MPs’ salary, which amounted to much less than this exorbitant figure – and this, as yet, without results.

The PN, on the other hand, is synonymous with results. The latest asset gained by the PN is its new general secretary Rosette Thake who will be spearheading the party to the next electoral victory to the satisfaction of a majority who believe in an honest transparent administration. It is a fitting idea to organise the 135th anniversary of the foundation of the Partit Nazzjonalista – coinciding with the Independence commemorations – in the magnificent space created by the Renzo Piano project.

The PN has always been the party to create all kinds of space. It is destined to continue doing so with honesty, transparency and results.
