In Fleur-de-Lys Road, Birkirkara, a former shirt factory has been used for the past decade as a distribution depot for a supermarket chain. Trucks and containers arrive early in the morning to unload foodstuffs.
As this former shirt factory only has a single lane as an access, containers and other heavy vehicles are the cause of a chaotic situation that makes life unbearable for the residents and for drivers using this main road. To add insult to injury, unloading takes place on the road by means of a fork lifter, causing havoc as it transports goods from two garages on the opposite side of the road, endangering the lives of passersby.
This activity has to stop immediately.
