A campaign aimed at increasing youth participation in musical clubs and other organisations involved in village feasts was launched at a seminar entitled ‘Youths, the heart of Gozitan musical societies’. It was organised by Leone Philharmonic Society’s Aurora Youth Movement at the band club in Victoria.

The seminar brought together organisations from various villages to discuss themes such as social inclusion, women’s participation, skill-building among youths and the participation of Gozitan workers and students who live for most of the week in Malta.

It was addressed by Chris Schembri Baldacchino from the King George V Band Club of Mqabba, who presented a nationwide study entitled Qalb Żagħżugħa, Festi Inklussivi that he coordinated, and Andrew Azzopardi, editor of the publication Young People and the Festa in Malta.

Other speakers were Leone Philharmonic Society president Michael Caruana and youth movement president Thomas Bajada.
