Kukesi and Legia Warsaw have both been charged by UEFA after their Europa League qualifier on Thursday evening was abandoned due to crowd trouble.

Visitors Legia had just taken a 2-1 lead early in the second half when their midfielder Ondrej Duda was hit by a stone thrown from the crowd. Play was immediately suspended and was abandoned around 10 minutes later.

Both teams were charged over the throwing of objects by their fans, with hosts Kukesi also facing several other charges.

The cases will be heard by UEFA’s Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body tomorrow, with the return leg scheduled for Thursday.

Lambert scores on Baggies bow

Rickie Lambert enjoyed a whirlwind start to his West Brom career on Friday night as hours after passing a medical and signing a two-year deal he marked his debut with two goals.

The striker sealed his move to the Hawthorns from Liverpool after the clubs swiftly concluded negotiations.

The Baggies have paid just under £3 million for the 33-year-old, meaning the Reds will make a loss of more than a £1 million on the player who only joined them from Southampton last summer.

He then started Albion’s pre-season friendly at his old side Bristol Rovers, opening the scoring with a deflected effort in the 23rd minute and doubling his tally with a close-range finish a minute after the break.

Roma agree Dzeko fee – ESPN

Edin Dzeko’s move to Roma has edged closer after the Italian club agreed a fee with Manchester City for the striker, ESPN said.

Roma have made Dzeko one of their top targets this summer and have been in talks with City officials for several weeks.

City were holding out for a fee of €30 million for Dzeko while Roma were willing to offer €20m plus bonuses.

A compromise has now been agreed between the two clubs of around €23m and the 29-year-old is set to hold talks with Roma over a move to Italy.

Twente take City teen on loan

Dutch club Twente Enschede have taken teenage striker Thomas Agyepong from Manchester City on loan but will not be able to use him until next month.

Twente announced the season-long loan deal for the 19-year-old, captain of Ghana junior national team, but a broken foot means Agyepong is only expected to be fit in September.

The deal keeps the stream of young players loaned to the Dutch club from elsewhere in Europe.

Twente have already taken Nigerian striker Michael Olaitan from Olympiakos and Brazilian defender Bruno Uvini from Napoli on loan deals this season.

Manchester United yesterday unveiled their new adidas home kit and it is reminiscent of their shirts of the 1980s.

It is the first strip made by the German sportswear manufacturer since they signed a 10-year partnership with the English Premier League giants.

Adidas designer Inigo Turner said in a statement on the club website: “We have aimed to break expectations by reengineering simple but impactful design features such as the classic v-neck collar and the iconic three-stripe detailing down the arms as our commitment to giving Manchester United a truly ground-breaking kit for the 2015/16 season.”

West Ham striker Enner Valencia suffered an apparently “significant” injury to his right knee and right ankle in the Europa League clash with Astra Giurgiu, the club have announced.

The Ecuador forward was starting his first game since returning from the Copa America, but was stretchered off with a potentially serious knee injury before half-time.

The club said: “Enner Valencia sustained what initially appears to be a significant injury to his right knee and right ankle during Thursday’s UEFA Europa League third qualifying round first leg tie with Astra Giurgiu.

“The Ecuador forward will see a specialist consultant at a clinic in central London on Monday morning and an update will be provided following that meeting.”

Norwich sign goalkeeper Kean

Norwich City signed Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Jake Kean yesterday as the newly-promoted Premier League team bolster their options between the posts.

The 24-year-old, signed on a two-year deal, will provide back-up to first-choice John Ruddy and Declan Rudd.

“Jake is a good, up-and-coming goalkeeper,” Norwich boss Alex Neil said.

“We needed to make sure we had cover for the goalkeeping position and we wanted to bring in someone who could push Declan (Rudd).”
