The 14th edition of the Delicata Classic Wine Festival is being held at the Upper Barrakka Gardens in Valletta between Thursday and Sunday from 7pm to midnight. The same festival will be held in Nadur from August 28 to 30.

Entrance to the gardens is free but one has to purchase a wristband and a souvenir glass for €12.50, which is then yours to keep, to be able to taste the wines.

Glasses and wristbands will be sold until 11pm, while wine will be poured until 11.30pm. No glasses or bottles will be sold or alcohol poured to anyone aged under 17.

George Curmi and his band will be performing on Sunday.

Live cooking stalls will be serving suckling pig, pasta, pizza, paella, koftas, kebabs, Indian dishes, sushi and Thai noodle dishes, a selection of cheeses and mixed platters and desserts.

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights only, Island Caterers will be serving a Mediterranean grill buffet, accompanied by Delicata wines, in the fully-seated restaurant area at the Saluting Battery, where one can enjoy breathtaking views of the harbour, for €36 per person. Live entertainment will be provided by Red Electrick and Planet Seed (Thursday), Billy Lee and the Spiteri Lucas Band (Friday), Relikc and The Crowns (Saturday) and Cash & Band and George Curmi (Il-Pusè) and his band (Sunday).

The festival will be compered by Mireille Bonello and street magic will be performed by Ivan Mallia on all four nights.

In Nadur, there will also be live entertainment every night and an assortment of food stalls selling both Gozitan and international dishes.

There will also be a regular shuttle service operating each night between the Mġarr ferry terminal and the festival in Nadur for a nominal fee of €2 return per person.
