Gabriella Farrugia, 20, from Rabat was awarded this year’s Alistair David Robert Chalmers (ADRC) bursary, which will sponsor her stay this summer at the University of Salamanca and Barcelona, to further her knowledge of the Spainish language and culture. Farrugia won the scholarship after she obtained a first class degree in Spanish and Latin American Studies at the University of Malta’s Department of Spanish and Latin American Studies. Among those present at the award ceremony were the student’s parents, John and Vincenza Farrugia, Roderick and Mary Rose Chalmers for the ADRC Trust, Faculty of Arts dean Dominic Fenech and Carmel Vassallo from the Spanish and Latin American Studies department.
