The latest edition of the University magazine Think has been issued.
Among its highlights is a provocative interview with Charles Xuereb on another side to the story of French rule in Malta; a story on how University researchers are using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to look into the human brain; and an article on research being conducted on graphene, a material that is thinner than a soap bubble film but nearly as strong as diamond.
Other articles deal with bacteria discovered growing on artworks in ancient Maltese temples that may be used to develop novel therapies; an update on the Life Med Green Roof Project that is demonstrating how to turn urban spaces into green havens; and news on a project with deaf people to provide a logical framework for Maltese signwriting. The magazine also contains contributions by students, faculty and alumni about car racing, multiple uses for chemistry and the Malta Neuroscience Network.
It may be picked up for free from newsagents and in Agenda bookstores. It is also available online at www.um.edu.mt/think and on Facebook.
