A two-year Comenius project entitled ‘Fables’, involving St Cecilia’s Kindergarten in Attard and Tarxien, and three schools in Antwerp, London and Dublin, was concluded with a meeting in Malta.

The project involved the respective schools’ teachers and pupils producing creative work linked to fables from each country.

The Maltese school worked on the fable ‘The Three Sisters and the Fig Tree’ by Trevor Zahra, while the English, Belgian and Irish schools worked on the fables ‘Dick Wittington’, ‘Petronella’ and ‘Sentana’ respectively.

During the project, meetings were held in each country to exchange creative work produced, and by the end of the project a book was compiled with the children’s creative work on all four fables.

The project was funded under the Comenius action, part of the EU’s Lifelong Learning Programme.
