One of the first festivals in Malta to give space to different forms of contemporary culture, Evenings on Campus, is now in its 23rd edition and a regular fixture on the summer cultural calendar.

The event, which is organised by Koperattiva Kulturali Universitarja in collaboration with the University’s Communications and Alumni Relations Office, is currently taking place with a series of theatrical, music and visual arts representations.

The calendar of events is as follows:

Twisted Tales, today at 6pm at the KSU Common Room. This event for children is presented by More Or Less Theatre and is based on the well-known fairy tales Hansel and Gretel and The Pied Piper of Hamelin.

Science of Honey, today at 8pm at the Atriju Vassalli. Malta Café Scientifique, supported by the Research, Innovation and Development Trust (RIDT), discusses what makes Maltese honey so special, from taste to health.

The Notebook – Paġni minn Ħajjitna (12+), on Tuesday at 8pm at Sir Temi Zammit Hall. A film directed by Nick Cassavetes. A poor and passionate young man falls in love with a rich young woman and gives her a sense of freedom. They soon are separated by their social differences. After the screening, there will be a discussion concerning the subtitling in Maltese which was done by Antonella Debono, a student from the Department of Translation, Terminology and Interpret-ing Studies in collaboration with Anthony Aquilina, through the Think-Aloud Protocols.

The Audition  (18+), on Wednesday and Thursday at 9pm at the Atriju Vassalli. A director tests how far an actress will go to get the part.

A series of theatrical, music and visual arts representations

Mistura, on Friday and next Sunday at 9pm at the Atriju Vassalli. A live show that includes a live rendition of songs from the album U d-­Dinja Tkompli Ddur, together with some other well-known songs in Maltese.

The Tattoo Culture, on Saturday at 9pm at the Atriju Vassalli. An evening entirely dedicated to tattoos, from history to the medical aspect of tattoos and everything in between, interspersed with music from a live band.

Frozen – Ir-Renju tas-Silġ, August 10 at 7pm at Sir Temi Zammit Hall. A screening of Chris Buck’s and Jennifer Lee’s block-buster animation movie. After the screening there will be a discussion concerning the subtitling in Maltese which was done by Reuben Degabriele, a student from the Department of Translation, Terminology and Interpreting Studies in collaboration with Aquilina, through the Think-Aloud Protocols.

Comedy On Campus (18+), on August 12 and 14 at 9pm at the Atriju Vassalli. An evening of stand-up comedy and surprises.
